These ages have so much personality in such a small package and it’s a fleeting moment that I’d love to help you capture forever!
Capturing the moments of your 1,2 & 3-year-olds in NYC and Long Island is something that I truly enjoy.
These early years are filled with curiosity, wonder, and endless energy, making them the perfect time to snap some timeless portraits.
My photo shoots are all about fun and laughter, letting your little ones explore and be themselves. Whether we’re wandering through some of the more quiet no-traffic streets of the West Village, enjoying the NYC skyline over Central Park, or exploring the charming parks and beaches of Long Island, each session is tailored to highlight the unique personality and spirit of your child.
With plenty of experience with kids this age, I approach every shoot with tons of patience and make sure to make you little one feel comfortable and at ease, I ensure every smile, giggle, and innocent moment is beautifully captured.
The result is stunning images that showcase the joy and love of these precious years.

1 Year- 3 Year Session Information
Locations for young children
At these ages, I find that it’s important to stay close to a park and if we shoot in the street then obviously a low/no traffic area is best. I’ve done many great sessions in Central Park, West Village, LIC/Queens, D.U.M.B.O Brooklyn, and more
What to expect
Expecting a fun, relaxed, and memorable photo shoot experience is key! During your 1-3 year old’s portrait session, we’ll create a comfortable and playful environment where your child can be themselves. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Preparation: Before the session, we’ll discuss the best location, outfits, and any special props or toys you’d like to include.
The Session: I’ll guide the shoot, capturing candid moments and natural expressions as your child explores and plays. We’ll take our time to ensure we get a variety of beautiful shots.
Breaks: I understand that little ones can get tired or fussy, so we’ll take breaks as needed to keep them happy and comfortable.
Review: After the session, you’ll have the opportunity to review the photos and select your favorites from the comfort of your own home.
Creating a stress-free and enjoyable experience ensures that we capture genuine smiles and precious moments that you’ll cherish forever.
Best Times To Schedule
As always, the best natural light is always closer to sunset (unless it’s overcast!)… If that’s too late for your child, then I recommend setting up an early morning session instead.
moving fast & Keeping Cool
My 20 year experience in photographing little children has taught me a lot but I’d say the most important thing is to:
1) Move quickly… Even if your child is doing amazing they may suddenly be bored/tired with the shoot and not want to go on
2)Be patient. Some children take longer to warm up and open up during the session… That’s OK!. No matter how it goes I have found that I literally always get tons of great photos and parents are very happy with the results.

I have worked with several professional children’s photographers in the past, and I can confidently say that Roy is head and shoulders above the rest!
We chose a location shoot. Roy has a great eye for using the surroundings to both make my children feel comfortable in their environment and for creating great backdrops for our photos. Roy made my little ones feel themselves in front of the camera. He was also able to capture their different moods and personalities – all within the time we spent with Roy during our shoot. Roy wasn’t only amazing with my kids, he was amazing with our dog! One of the most precious photos that came from our time with Roy was one where he caught my little boy hugging our little dog.
What is also important to know about Roy is that he is tireless. Roy kept going and kept taking photos even after my son was no longer interested. Roy is a perfectionist and he keeps trying to capture that “great shot,” which he does! There were so many great pictures that came out of our time with him.
Finally, Roy is a true professional. He was responsive; timely; and he was highly cooperative. We look forward to working with Roy for our family photos again. I would recommend Roy without hesitation!
