Once your baby turns 6 months or around the time they are able to sit up on their own, the posing and photo opportunities are much greater.
One-year portrait sessions in Central Park are some of my favorites! After nearly 20 years of photographing little ones here, I know just how special this milestone is. That first birthday is such a big moment—not just for the baby, but for the whole family. They’re just starting to stand, maybe even taking their first wobbly steps, and I know some parents like to wait until they’re a little steadier. But as long as they can hold onto something, we can make it work! Mornings are usually best at this age since they’re happiest after a good night’s sleep (and before any nap-time crankiness kicks in). Plus, the park is quieter and the light is beautiful. Many of my clients are visiting from out of town and want to make the most of their trip, so I keep booking simple and stress-free. All you have to do is show up, and I’ll take care of the rest!
