There’s something magical about capturing family moments in the streets of NYC. Whether it’s your family laughing together on a quiet brownstone-lined block (over one of my cheesy go-to jokes I have perfected over 20 years), strolling down a cobblestone street in SoHo, or posing in front of an iconic iron-facade building, the city provides the perfect backdrop for timeless family portraits.
I always try to capture a lot of variety of photos with a common theme: Things that are clearly NYC. From yellow taxis rushing by, an old subway station, or add a classic New York touch with fire escapes and historic architecture. No stiff poses—just real moments, real smiles, and the unique connection that makes your family special.

Whether your family has older children or little ones, I have a lot of experience working with children and teens of all ages. I’ve done hundreds of family portrait sessions, baby sessions,1 year to teens and high school seniors.

I do so many family portrait sessions at the beautiful beaches and parks in Long Island, and I absolutely love it!
Nassau County is home to some fantastic spots that offer the perfect backdrop for family photos. Whether it’s the sandy shores of Jones Beach or the parks and beaches around Roslyn Harbor, there’s always a great place to capture those special moments.

I highly recommend working with Roy for any family, extended family or kids photo session needs you may have. When planning my Dad’s surprise 50th Birthday we decided we wanted to have a professional photographer capture it, since it is not often now that we are all in one place together at once. Roy was very responsive when I reached out to see if he could help with this and the whole process of setting up the session went smoothly from there.
I have a four month old whose schedule is still pretty unpredictable and he was flexible with the timing of the session, even with it being the Saturday before Easter and even after having a family emergency pop up last minute. Once he arrived at the house where we were staying in Brooklyn, he started snapping pictures pretty much right away and making my almost three year old comfortable. He was able to get some amazing shots of not only my entire family all together (all 7 of us plus 2 kids) but also some really cute candid shots of my older son. My four month old wasn’t in the most smiley mood that day but he still even managed to get some good pictures with him too. There is one really great black and white one of both my sons sitting together that we are in the process of getting made into a large canvas. Chasing after a 2-yr-old for pictures is a tough job, but Roy was patient, easygoing, and just a wonderful photographer to work with. My husband and I booked our first session, a maternity session, with Roy- we were so impressed with both him personally and his work, we quickly booked a newborn session to follow just weeks later. And now- nearly 3 1/2 yrs later, we have had a couple more wonderful blessings- and have now had 3…. yes 3… newborn sessions, as well as many other sessions, for a grand total of 9 (with family).
He is WONDERFUL!!! He is caring, laid back, extremely patient, and immensely talented. The most recent session was with a newborn, and 18mth old, and a 3yo- he was still smiling throughout it, and captured the most AMAZING pictures too!!! I love adding to my collection I refer to as his Greatest Hits! Pictures are the one chance you get to capture some of the most precious moments of your child’s life- blink and they are gone. But Roy captures those expressions, interactions, smiles, frowns- everything that makes your child yours and so infinitely special- perfectly!!! His pictures are one of my most prized possessions, after the kids, of course ;)!!! If you are looking for an amazing, warm, caring professional photographer- Roy is the one to call!!!
